Ethiopia is the Tiger Economy of the Eastern Africa. It has registered an
average GDP growth rate of over 10% during the past five years. This amazing
economic growth has made the country the fifth biggest economy in sub Saharan
Africa.
The country’s population exceeds 80 million with an encouraging growth
of disposable income making it a promising market for goods and services. Ethiopia’s
proximity to the affluent region of the Middle East and the duty and quota free
market access to the US and EU markets accorded by the African Growth Opportunity
Act (AGOA) and Everything But Arms (EBA) trading arrangements are among the
reasons that makes Ethiopiaan attractive place to invest and conduct business
with. The progresses made to accede to the regional free economic zones are
also offering easy access to the Eastern and Southern African Markets.
The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA), the
umbrella organization of the country’s private sector is making preparations
to organize an International Trade Fair under the theme “Buy Ethiopian”,
at the renowned venue of Addis Ababa Exhibition Center from November 11 to 17,
2010.

years of service to the Ethiopian Private Sector in promoting Trade and Investment
through organizing National and International Trade Fairs at home and facilitating
the participation of Ethiopian businesses in such events organized in various
parts of the world.
The main objectives of this Trade Fair are promoting Ethiopian products and
services, facilitating the establishment of business relations between Ethiopian

relationships and joint venture opportunities and promoting Foreign Direct Investments,
among others.
The participants of the Trade Fair are expected to be Exporters, Importers
of all types of inputs for the agriculture and manufacturing sectors, manufacturers
and foreign companies supplying material and technological inputs to local manufacturers
are some to be mentioned.
The event is designed to be an effective venue for benefiting foreign
participants through linking them with local companies seeking suppliers
of various material
and technological inputs for their businesses. Business to Business Meetings
are organized alongside the Trade Fair where business persons are discussing
joint venture and import export opportunities. There will also be a one
