Patriotic Ethiopians and Ethiopian- Americans residing in and around Houston Metropolitan Area launched a triumphant fund raising event by purchasing bonds a process that has been going on throughout the last nine months channeled towards the building of the Grand Renaissance Dam amounting to the tune of $ 50, 000 in Houston, Texas last Sunday. more

During the past two Ethiopian Fiscal Years (2010/2011 and 2011/2012) real GDP growth of 11.6% and 8.5 % have respectively been registered. The share of industry in total GDP has increased from 10.8% at base year to 15% in 2010 / 2011. The average double digit growth that has been registered puts Ethiopia in the list of fastest growing countries of the world. Read more »

Ethiopian Deputy Premier Discusses Success of Ethiopia's General Education Quality Improvement Program with the World Bank in D.C.!

During the interactive discussion that ensued between the two parties a financial grant amounting to$432 Million is reported to have been allotted by the Fast Track Initiative (FIT), a consortium of multi- lateral donor group constituting of the World Bank, the United Kingdom, Finland, Italy and the Netherlands for Ethiopia's General Education Quality Improvement Program Phase Two which will be launched next July 2013. The African Diaspora Market Place initiative has extended its deadline for submission of business proposals to February 15,2012. Interested members of of the Ethiopian Diaspora in the USA an submit their proposals before the deadline.
